Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 November 2026 · Applies to the Private Job website at www.privatejob.org

1. What we collect

  • Accounts (not currently available): sign-in is switched off on this site. We do not collect sign-in details, and no account, saved resume or document-edit record is stored on our servers. If accounts are switched on later, this policy will be updated to describe what is collected.
  • If you post a job (employers): the job details you enter (such as the title, company, location, category, description, pay, requirements, application email or link, and closing date) and, in the private contact section, your name, mobile number and optional email. See section 3 for how this is used and who can see it.
  • On your own device: your resume draft is stored only in your own browser's local storage and never reaches our servers. Document conversion tools (JPG/PDF conversion, merge, split) never send your files anywhere — all processing happens in your browser.
  • If you email us: your email address, your name if you include it, what you write, and any documents you send (for example, documents we ask for to verify a job or a request). We use this only to reply to you and to act on your message, such as checking a reported listing, handling a request about your data, or confirming that you are authorised to make a request. Messages are kept in the site administrator's Gmail account, which the administrator and Google, as the email provider, can access. We have no fixed deletion schedule for these messages; they may be kept as a record of what was asked and what we did. You can ask us to delete your messages. We will review the request, but some messages may be kept where we need them to prevent fraud or misuse or to meet a legal obligation, and copies may remain in Google's own backups.
  • Basic usage data that the services this site is built on collect automatically when your browser loads a page, under their own privacy policies: Blogger, which hosts the site; Google Fonts and Google's script servers; Google Apps Script, which receives Post a Job submissions; and cdnjs (Cloudflare), which supplies the code libraries some tools use. Our Post a Job form does not itself record your IP address or device details. See section 4 for cookies and advertising.

2. Why we collect it

To review, verify and publish jobs that employers submit; to contact employers about their listings; to reply to messages you send us and act on reports and requests; and to keep spam, fraud and job ads that charge candidates off the site. The career tools run in your own browser and do not send us your data.

3. Who else sees it

We do not sell personal data. Job listings themselves are public. We never send your resume to an employer — you choose when to send a cover letter and resume yourself.

Jobs posted by employers.

  • What we collect: the job details you enter, and your name, mobile number and optional email from the private contact section.
  • Why: to check that the vacancy is real and free for candidates, to contact you about that listing, and to prevent spam and fraud.
  • Where it is kept: in a private Google Sheet in our Google account, processed by Google Apps Script. The site administrator also receives each accepted submission, including your contact details, by email in Gmail. Your mobile number is also held for up to 6 hours in Google Apps Script's temporary storage to limit repeat submissions. Before review, the job details (not your contact details) are also saved as an unpublished draft in Blogger.
  • Who can access it: The site administrator, and Google as the provider of these services. Access depends on the sharing settings and the security of the administrator's Google account.
  • What is published: after review, the public job fields: the job details (such as the title, company, location, description, pay, requirements and closing date) and the application email or link you gave for candidates. We may remove formatting such as HTML from them. A published job may also be summarised in news articles and roundups on this site. The private contact section (your name, mobile number and contact email) is not published or shared with candidates, but anything you type into the public job fields, including contact details, is published.

4. Cookies, local storage and advertising

What we store on your device. This site uses your browser's local storage to keep your resume draft, saved filters and similar preferences on your own device. Blogger (the platform that hosts this site) may set cookies needed for the site to work.

Advertising. This site does not show ads at present. In future we may apply to show ads served by Google (Google AdSense) to keep the site free. If ads are added, this section will apply:

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
  • Learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Any ads would be shown by Google, not chosen by us. We do not share your resume or any employer contact details with advertisers, and ads would never appear inside your resume, documents or downloads.

Your control. You can block or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Most of the site keeps working without them; only saved drafts and preferences need local storage.

5. Your choices

  • As a job seeker, you can use the whole site without signing in or giving us any personal data.
  • You can clear your browser's local storage at any time to remove any locally-saved draft.
  • Employers can ask us, through our Contact Us page or by email, to take down their listing or to remove the contact details they gave with it. Taking a listing down unpublishes it; it does not by itself delete what we hold. The job details stay in our Sheet and as an unpublished draft in Blogger, and your contact details stay in the Sheet and the administrator's email, unless you also ask us to remove them. We will review reasonable requests and act on them, but we do not promise a fixed time. Some records may remain where we need them to prevent fraud or misuse, or to meet a legal obligation. We cannot promise complete deletion of copies such as earlier versions kept in the Sheet's version history, messages in the administrator's email, Google's own backups, or pages saved by search engines.

6. Security

Accounts are switched off, so there is no account database on our side. Resume drafts and the documents you process stay in your own browser. Employer submissions are checked automatically for some signs of spam and fraud, and each one is reviewed by the administrator before it can be published. Employer submissions are stored in a private Google Sheet and in the administrator's Gmail account. Access to these records depends on the sharing settings and the security of that Google account. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that data will never be exposed.

7. Children

This platform is intended for job seekers aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated date.

9. Contact

Privacy questions, requests about your data, and complaints are handled by the site administrator. To reach us, see our Contact Us page. You can also email abhikritstudio@gmail.com.
