Terms and Conditions

1. What this platform is
Private Job is a free job listing platform focused on private-sector vacancies in India. Job listings may come from employers who submit vacancies through our Post a Job page and from employers' own public career pages. Listings from career pages are checked automatically and may be published without a person reviewing each one; each names the employer and links to the employer's own page, where you apply. The employer may have changed or closed the vacancy since we checked it. Every job post shows what has and has not been checked: where the listing came from ("Source: …"), whether the vacancy has been re-checked ("Vacancy re-checked" or "Vacancy not re-checked yet"), and whether the employer has been verified ("Employer verified" or "Employer not verified yet"). Where something is shown as not checked or not verified, treat that information as unconfirmed and verify it yourself before acting on it, especially before paying any money or sharing sensitive documents with an employer.
2. No guarantee of job authenticity
We take reasonable steps to filter and verify listings, but we cannot guarantee that every listing is genuine, current, or free of error. We are not a party to any employment relationship or agreement between you and an employer. If a listing appears fraudulent, asks for payment, or seems suspicious, please report it through our Contact Us page and do not send money or original identity documents to an unverified employer.
3. Career tools
Resume Builder, Job Matching, Cover Letter preparation, Interview Preparation, and Document Tools are provided for your convenience, free of charge. Interview questions shown are illustrative practice material based on a job's category and description — they are never the employer's actual questions and are not guaranteed to reflect any real interview.
4. Document Tools — acceptable use
Document Tools let you convert, merge, split, organize, and annotate your own documents. You agree to use these tools only for documents you have the right to edit, and only for lawful purposes. You must not use these tools to alter, falsify, or misrepresent any official document, identity document, certificate, financial record, or any document belonging to another person without authorization. The "Add Text / Cover Text" tool requires signing in. Sign-in is not currently available on this site, so that tool cannot be used yet. If sign-in is switched on, each edit made with that tool will create an accountability record (a fingerprint of the document and your account identity, not the document's content) that may be used to investigate reports of misuse.
5. Assisted application (cover letter & email)
A job that lists an application email shows a suggested cover letter. You send your application yourself, from your own email account, after reviewing it. We do not send emails on your behalf.
6. Accounts
Sign-in accounts are not currently available on this site. Everything on the site works without an account, except the features that say they need one. If accounts are switched on later, these terms will be updated to describe how sign-in works. Account holders will then be responsible for keeping access to their account secure, and we may suspend or terminate accounts used for fraud, harassment, document forgery, or other abuse of the platform.
7. Posting jobs (employers)
Employers and their authorised representatives can submit vacancies through our free Post a Job page. By submitting a job, you agree to the following.
- Accurate, real vacancies. You are responsible for the job you submit. It must be a real, current, private-sector vacancy that you are authorised to advertise, and its title, pay, location, duties and application details must be true and not misleading. Tell us promptly if the vacancy closes or any detail changes.
- Verification. Every submitted job is reviewed before it is published. We may contact you on the phone number or email you provide to confirm the vacancy, and we may ask for reasonable proof that the business and the vacancy are genuine. We decide whether to publish a job and may decline any submission. A listing that shows "Employer verified" means we completed the check shown on that listing at that time; it is not a guarantee of the employer or the job.
- No fees from job seekers. You must not ask candidates to pay any money at any stage, including any registration, application, interview, training, uniform, kit or security fee or deposit, even if described as refundable. You must not require candidates to buy any product or service in order to apply or be hired. We refuse submissions that do this when we detect it, and remove listings found to do this.
- Prohibited use. You must not use Post a Job to: advertise fake, misleading or non-existent jobs; collect candidates' money, personal data or original documents for any purpose other than the advertised vacancy; promote schemes that require candidates to invest or recruit others; post government or public-sector vacancies; impersonate another business, recruiter or government body; submit content that is unlawful, discriminatory or infringes anyone's rights; or send automated submissions, or large numbers of submissions through the form (contact us if you want to post several jobs). We may refuse or remove such submissions, refuse further submissions from the same employer, and report suspected fraud to the authorities.
- Removal of misleading or expired listings. We may remove any listing at any time, including when it is reported or found to be misleading or fraudulent, when the employer asks candidates for payment, when its application link or email stops working, when its closing date has passed, or when it has been live for 40 days. Expired listings are taken down automatically by a daily check. We may also remove formatting such as HTML from submitted text. Taking a listing down unpublishes it; it does not by itself delete the submission we hold. Our Privacy Policy explains what is kept. You can ask us to remove your listing at any time through our Contact Us page.
- Your contact information. The name, mobile number and optional email you give in the "Your contact (private)" part of the form are used only to verify the vacancy, to contact you about that listing, and to prevent spam and fraud (for example, by limiting repeat submissions from the same mobile number). We do not copy them into the public job post or give them to candidates. Everything else you enter, including the job description and the application email or link under "How candidates apply", may be published. We may remove formatting such as HTML. Do not include private contact details in public fields if you do not want them shown. Our Privacy Policy explains how this information is stored.
- Your responsibilities as an employer. Private Job is not an employer, recruiter or placement agent, and is not a party to any hiring decision or employment contract. You alone are responsible for your recruitment process, how you treat candidates and their personal data, and complying with the laws that apply to you, including labour and data-protection laws.
- Permission to publish. You confirm that you have the right to share the job details you submit, and you allow us to publish and display them on this website, including in short news articles and roundups that link to the listing, and to make them available to search engines and job search features. Taking your listing down does not necessarily remove these at the same time: a news article about it is normally taken down by the next daily check, a roundup that also lists other live jobs may stay up with your job still listed, and copies or search-engine results may remain for some time.
8. No fees
Using this platform, browsing jobs, and using the career tools is free. We do not charge job seekers for access to listings or tools. Posting a job is also free for employers.
9. Limitation of liability
The platform is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from job listings, employer conduct, or reliance on any content or tool provided here, including the career tools and document tools.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes means you accept the updated terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
12. Contact
